My ‘Forever-Always-Disclaimer’ Statement

Forever-Always-Disclaimer

Yeah, I can talk big and wax eloquent… well, sometimes…

Yeah, I can preach and teach by tossing up ‘huge ideas’ and really, really calling for things like God does… Romans 7:14 KJV

God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.

Romans 7:14

Yeah, I can talk like I have it all figured out, and living a really together life.

BUT NO, I am just another frail human who is on a Journey with God, working out my salvation with fear and trembling (Phil 2:12)

Respond to God, Not Me

Philippians Ch 3:10-14 is one of my ‘life-Scriptures’

10 I want to know Christ—yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, 11 and so, somehow, attaining to the resurrection from the dead.

12 Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. 13 Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

Not that I fully have what I’m talking about.

Not that I’m perfect in this area.

Not that I don’t trip up, say and do stupid things, and have to regularly repent and ‘come back’ into His alignment.

Not that I regualrly have to go to people and confess my sin and repent and ask forgiveness.

SO, do not look to me as the ‘shining example’, or put me on some pedestal as super-human.

NO! Rather, as Hebrews 12:1b-3 says…

…run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.

Hebrews 12:1b-3

TAKE-AWAY:

Follow King Jesus. Take what I may say, check it out with Him and His Word, disgard the stupid, keep the good.

‘Nuff said!
