My Personal Revival History
Recently, I felt ‘the Nudge from above’ to write down my history and contact with previous ‘Revivals’.
Currently being in a ‘Revival Culture’ flow 2025 means a great deal of discussion of Revival, and references to past Revivals.
Now, for this Blog, what qualified as a ‘named Revival’ for me meant that other writers and Christian leaders have called a phenomenon as a ‘Revival’.

Currently, as of this writing [end 2024], I have experienced 15 distinct Revivals.
I ‘bent the knee to King Jesus’ in December of 1972 at age 14… and besides these 15 distinct Revival ‘flows’ I’ve been personally a part of… in some small or significant way… there are DOZENS of other ‘Revivals’ that I have touched through contacts, close friends and colleagues, association or ‘HolySpirit’-arranged wildness.
Some things were also ‘micro-movements’ within the Revivals. One example would be the Prophetic Restoration movement that flowed between the Charismatic Renewal and the New Wine days in the late 1970’s-1980s.
Avoiding ‘name-dropping’, I do want to say that it’s a wonder to me how many of the key leaders and ‘movers-shakers’ of many of these Revivals were people I ended up spending time with, which has marked and shaped me deeply.
TAKE-AWAY:
As noted in the Intro, these ‘Revivals’ were called out as such by others… leaders, writers, historians…
This certainly doesn’t include the hundreds of crazy GOD-Encounters experienced over the years in Prayer Rooms, Encounter Nights, and the Secret Place… as well as outreaches, ministry times, church services, and… the really unique [and fun] experiences I’ve been a part of outside gas stations, restaurants, 7-11s, grocery stores…
