Heaven’s Harvest: Two Things [short post series]

THE MAIN POINT:

2 things regarding the Harvest that Heaven wants us to know:

– it’s not coming; it’s already HERE

– roll up your sleeves and put on the coffee, it’s gonna be HARD WORK

TWO THINGS

This Blog will be one of the ‘Short Posts’ series… minimal words, maximal ideas.

SCRIPTURES

Matthew 9:35-38

35 Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness. 36 When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. 37 Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. 38 Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”

1 Corinthians 2:9-10

9 However, as it is written:

“What no eye has seen,
    what no ear has heard,
and what no human mind has conceived”[b]—
    the things God has prepared for those who love him—

10 these are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God.

HERE’S THOSE TWO…

ONE

The Harvest isn’t ‘coming’… it’s already HERE

       I felt that Matt 9 spoke to me as current-day: not ‘coming’, but IS… it’s HERE, it’s NOW, it’s HAPPENING

TWO

It’s time roll up your sleeves and put on the coffee, THE HARVEST that’s here… it’s gonna be HARD WORK

       I felt Matt 9 speak ‘spectators stand around and look, but farm-field workers have boots and heavy jeans and gloves, and they are ready to work HARD and sweat and have sore muscles at night’.

       The Harvest needs hard-working farm-field-ready workers.

       The Harvest ain’t gonna be a spectators sport… get ready, it’s gonna be long hours and messy and dusty and smelly and HARD WORK.

[Full disclosure: my teen years were in a semi-rural Midwest county that’s mostly farming, and yes, I did work some farm-field stuff for extra money…]

SOME TAKE-AWAYS:

– I did ask HolySpirit about the ‘it’s happening now’ bit, because, to be honest, I’m not seeing it with my eyes or my experience.

“Ohh, it’s happening… you’ll see, real soon…” was His answer.
