                              IS EVERYTHING

  • ‘The Manifest Presence of GOD’  : hundreds of instances in Scripture
  • ‘The Lord says/spoke’ over 2,000 instances in Scripture
  • JESUS, the Incarnation as “Emmanuel, God with us!”  Matthew 1:23
  • 17 He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.   Colossians 1:17

  • Knew who was GOD, and that he was not… honored GOD above his own life
  • Worshiped in the Spirit and in Truth, pursued Presence and Encounter (1 Samuel 30:6)
  • Pursued GOD with passion, purity and purpose- and brought a nation with him
  • Took risks to bring Israel into Face-to-Face relationship [Tent of David- 1 Chronicles Chapters 15-17]
  • Launched radical forms of worship-devotion, including The Book of Psalms -penned 73 Psalms
  • Messiah/JESUS called ‘son of David’
  • Apostles in Acts prophesy Tent of David worship will be re-established [Acts 15:11-17]

  • QUALITIES/CHARACTER OF WORSHIPERS
  • ALL IN! Whole-hearted, un-divided focus and affections
  • THE LORD IS GOD, and I am not
  • 24/7 days/week, step-by-step, moment-by-moment, impossibility-after-impossibility, conversational-dialouge, student-apprentice, surrendered, unquestionable love and goodness relationship son/daughter-to-Father
  • Relentless pursuit INDIVIDUALLY (Matthew 6:5-8) and with/in the EKKLESIA (Matthew 16:15-20)

  • WHY DO WORSHIPERS WORSHIP?
  • Overwhelmed by HIM (see ‘worshipers in Heaven’ passages Isaiah, Revelations)
  • WORSHIP declares the TRUTHS about God, Who He is, and His Character (Exodus 34)
  • We become WHO we worship (or what…)    [Psalm 115]
  • WORSHIPERS want to be just like their Father, King Jesus and the Holy Spirit                          (2 Peter 1:3-9)
  • HIS PRESENCE is Heaven, and when He manifests Who He Is, ’nothing is impossible with GOD’ [Luke 1:37]… ‘living under the Open Heaven…” [Mark 1:9-13]
  • “… you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.”   2 Peter 1:4
