Until… (quarantine wk 51)
Has anybody noticed that the ‘fury’ of things hasn’t let up… COVID quarantine hit us a year ago (first cases showing up one year ago this past week, quarantine declared 3/11/2020), and then… so many other things… and they just keep coming…
There is a WORD going out over the Body of Christ… it’s not for ‘Social Media’ or the ‘general public’… it’s for the Church, because that’s where GOD is focusing HIS real efforts…
Remember, 2 Chronicles 7:14 is focused on the Church …
”if my People…”2 Chronicles 7:14a
it is not “… if all mankind…”, “… if the political leaders” or “… if everyone…”]
The WORD going out to the Church is ‘until…”, as in Ephesians 4:13
…until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.Ephesians 4:13
This week, I keep hearing that our ‘pruning season’ will continue… keep comoing and coming… ‘until’…? Until??
That could be a very, very long time, given that, historically, GOD is not in any hurry to ‘just get this over with’, as He showed in the 70 year Babylonian captivity …
8 Therefore the Lord Almighty says this: “Because you have not listened to my words…
11 This whole country will become a desolate wasteland, and these nations (including God’s people) will serve the king of Babylon seventy years.Jeremiah 25: 8, 11
This week, I keep hearing “UNTIL it’s all about… the Lord and King, Jesus Christ”
In the Church.
In our Churches.
In all that our Churches do, both inside and outside the four-walls.
In our families.
In our devotions and attentions.
In the Secret Place.
In our worship and service.
In all our Social Media posts and televised content
In each heart of every adopted son and daughter of God.
Sisters and brothers, this is a Hebrews 12 moment of History, in real time.
4 In your struggle against sin, you have not yet resisted to the point of shedding your blood. 5 And have you completely forgotten this word of encouragement that addresses you as a father addresses his son? It says,
“My son, do not make light of the Lord’s discipline,
and do not lose heart when he rebukes you,
6 because the Lord disciplines the one he loves,
and he chastens everyone he accepts as his son.”
7 Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as his children. For what children are not disciplined by their father? 8 If you are not disciplined—and everyone undergoes discipline—then you are not legitimate, not true sons and daughters at all. 9 Moreover, we have all had human fathers who disciplined us and we respected them for it. How much more should we submit to the Father of spirits and live! 10 They disciplined us for a little while as they thought best; but God disciplines us for our good, in order that we may share in his holiness. 11 No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.
12 Therefore, strengthen your feeble arms and weak knees. 13 “Make level paths for your feet,”so that the lame may not be disabled, but rather healed.Hebrews 12:4-13
Hebrews 12: 4-13
The 2020-2021 Pandemic Quarantine will morph into some other major crisis… over and over… UNTIL… until, for the Church, it’s all about the Lord and King Jesus Christ… until it’s ONLY about Jesus…
The other caveat about ‘UNTIL’ is that no thing… no activity… no substitute, no matter how ‘good’ it was or ‘helpful’ it was in the past… nothing will ‘wrap up’ our ‘pruning time’ except full engagement by the Church with the Lord and King, Jesus Christ.
