THE MAIN POINT:

Disciple people well in 2026.

The answer to the question of ‘How?’ completely lacks consensus in the American Church.

IF we are expecting God to pour out a great HARVEST of people into the Church in 2026, then ‘how to Disciple people well’ needs clarity, do-ability and consensus in the Church.

I recently blogged some of my thoughts on ‘Spiritual Big Brothers/Sisters’ [see the feed], and… actually received a great deal of response from ya’ll. [Happy dance…]

That launched me into some deeper thinking, since the ‘Spiritual Big Brothers/Sisters’ blog is really about Discipleship.

Discipleship.

‘How are Churches out there really set up for Discipleship?’

‘How are Churches really Discipling today?’

‘What has been my own experiences of Discipleship?’

‘What are my assumptions and bias regarding Discipleship?’

“What are the ‘failure points’ in current Discipleship efforts?”

‘What is the secret sauce of healthy and effective Discipleship efforts in Churches today?’

I want to step past the usual ‘here is our discipleship program… here’s our discipleship curriculum, here’s the Scriptures about discipleship’…

I want to explore, “What are some of the core issues around Discipling well in 2026?” … which is a way of saying “What are the obstacles and ‘real-rubber-meets-the-road’ issues around Discipling well in 2026?”

HERE WE GO…

There are a couple draft blogs that are super-short.

SOME TAKE-AWAYS:

-I am not proposing ANY Discipleship program, curriculum, book, course, on-line group… here.

I’m asking questions, kicking the tires, revealing what we’re actually saying and doing.

I’m hoping to create context for better Discipleship in 2026.
