“We cannot attain the presence of God; we are already totally in the presence of God.
What’s absent is awareness. Little do we realize that God is maintaining us in existence with every breath we take. As we take another, it means that God is choosing us now and now and now.”
(Richard Rohr, Everything Belongs: The Gift of Contemplative Prayer, p 29)
The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. 17 He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. (St Paul, Colossians 1:15-17)
We are unconsciously immersed in the Presence of God. One of His attributes as God is that HE is omni-present, or ‘present everywhere and always’.
There are many reasons that God is worthy of Adoration. He is always Present. He is the great and present “I AM!” of right now (Exodus 3:14). As we become aware, as we become watchful of the Father’s Presence as Jesus called us to be ( Matt 25:13, Luke 12:37, Mark 13:33-37), we can foster one of the basic spiritual Disciplines that leads us to hear from God; continual gratitude.
Saying ‘Thank you’ every time you feel the Presence of Abba Father caring for you in some small but necessary way (“Hey! I found the mop I thought was lost!”… “Thank you, God!”) is a good place to start
