WORSHIPERS BECOME WORSHIP

GOSPEL OF JOHN CH 4:23-24     [NIV + amplified]

23 [Jesus] “Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in [the] Truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. 24 God is spirit, and His worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in [the] Truth.”

ROMANS 12:1-2 [NIV]

Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

In AdoreTheLord blog, we’ve poked around at what IS ‘worship’ (see past blogs). Noun? Verb? Definable?

In my prayers and study of the last few months, it started to stand out, ‘worshipers, not worship’ as the more important issue.

Then the Lord spoke. Here’s what I’m processing:

“All this talk, talk, talk about ‘worship’.

I seek WORSHIPERS.

Worship is what WORSHIPERS do, the atmosphere they live and move and have being.

I seek WORSHIPERS.

WORSHIPERS become worship.

You can’t fake being a WORSHIPER with ‘worship’.”
